How do you know you cat is over weight?
When they do this to you legs!
[Yes these are my pasty-white legs.]
Frankie was sitting on my lap while I was rubbing her chin. I kept moving her because my legs were starting to hurt from her front paws.
When she jumped down I saw the marks. I laughed sooo hard. Rasputin thought it was funny too.
So… Frankie your going on a diet!

"Take my picture!"
I was taking a picture of Cici in her camouflage-bandanna and Frankie was mad that I wasn't taking her picture.
Then of course she "acts all casual" when I do take her picture...
"Oh, hey...yeah...I guess you can take my picture or whatever..."
Darn sassy cat!

Electric Gernamiums, childhood beliefs
When I was small, (about 4 or 5) I lived in a large apartment complex. One of those generic saltine box places. The overcrowded low rent places that are everywhere.
There were lots of kids living in that building. Since there wasn’t much to do we all played out in the nearby field. It was nothing special, just an overgrown weed choked grassy field.
On the edge of the field someone had dumped out some half dead geraniums. In their new life as feral flowers they began to thrive.

I went walked over to them with a group of other kids. I reached out to pick some of the red blooms… and one of the oldest kids stopped me.
“Don’t touch those! You will get zapped” The girl said.
“What?’
“Leave them alone they will zap you.”
So for a time I was very afraid of geraniums. I though they would electrocute me. I couldn’t understand why so many people had them if they were so dangerous.
Eventually I forgot all bout this. Seeing the geraniums that my neighbors have reminded me of this.
Did you ever get convinced that’s something silly was real?
P.S. She said that so I wouldn’t pick them, I went back later and they were all picked. Whadda jerk!

In Minnesota It’s illegal to paint a sparrow with the intent of selling it as a parakeet…
I was checking out Gala Darling's blog…I found a link to a crazy list of laws. Fifty crazy laws on the books.
Some of my favorites:
Connecticut:
A pickle cannot actually be a pickle unless it bounces.
Visions of bouncing pickles danced in there heads…
Georgia:
It’s illegal to change the clothes on a storefront mannequin unless you draw the shades first.
It’s a damned mannequin! Its not like its anatomically correct!
Kentucky:
Every citizen is required to take a shower once a year.
Wow….nasty!
Enjoy!

Fashionable (affordable) purchases.
These are a few things I have picked up this summer. I love them…!
First, are my brown Mossimo wedge heels (around $25)…which I have had for 2 years. However I loved them so much that I have been looking for something similar in black.

One big fashion idea that I live by is this: if I love something, I buy it in multiple colors. Unless it’s a crazy over the top piece.
So after literally years of searching I found ones that are black. ($25) They have the same type of stitching, but they are different enough to not annoy me.

I had been searching for a new versatile everyday purse. I had been toying with the idea of a white purse. Rasputin has been giving me grief about it though “What happens when you spill coffee on it?” Party-pooper!
When I came across this one at Target, on clearance no less…I was so happy! ($12!)

My joy was short lived… I came home one day to find that my beloved sweet dog…had eaten one of the straps. Ahhhhhhhh!
A good friend suggested that I tie a scarf on it to make a new strap. (Thank you Elea!)
At the same time I decided to personalize it a bit more. I added a Corgi themed key chain, (oh the irony) and some sewing machine keys as well.

I found an awesome black and white star scarf made by Converse. (Around $20 I think…)

A few months back Rasputin and I were at the Mall of America, and I decided to stop in Ragstock. They have a huge scarf bin. Peeking out of the giant mess was a corner of a cute brown pattern. I gently pulled…and pulled and with a yank … Ta-da!

Super cute and super cheap. ($3!!!)
Last but not least….my fantabulous friend Elea bought me a late birthday present:
Brown velvet…brass studs and leather fringe. (swoon)

LOVE IT!!!
(She spent $12!) is a great bargain hunter as well!
*Please ignore the dog hair. It never goes away!
