Old Is Gold
Cool stuff doesn't always have to be new.
All of my clothes today have been with me a looong time.

I thought I would go with a sort-of punky look.
Reminds me of my highschool days.
I will be so sad when those jeans finally bite the dust.
I was having a bad hair day. I decided to just go with it.
Rue wanted a picture take with me. He has been super cuddly lately. Aww!
Purple tank top ~ ???
Jeans ~ Shopko (a million years ago! They are practically disintegrating. The more shredded they get, the more I love them!)
Tights ~ Target
Hoodie ~ Target (I added the skull patches, and the heart patch, which is hard to see)
Boots ~ The Goodwill*
Necklace chain ~ hardware store
Charms on necklace ~ Gift from Mum, and Raspi (They are a motorcycle, a bullet, and a snake)
*If you have been a thrift-er for awhile you sort of get a sixth sense about shopping. Suddenly you get the idea to hit up a store you have been to in a while. Then BAM! Amazing finds!
Years ago, I had this crazy desire for odd cowboy boots, bordering on obsession. I decided to go to a local thrift store, but was on auto-pilot while driving. Instead I found myself at the good will. I walked in and headed straight to the shoes. There were my crazy vintage cowboy boots!

Lady In Red
Trying out a "fashion-y" pose. Ha! As if.
Check out my Halloween kitty and broom on the left. ; )
I have very slender feet, as you can see. The squared toe on these shoes makes me feet look even longer. Water-skis. Ha!
Red sweater ~ Shopko (Many years ago)
Bronze pin ~ local antique store
Glass ear plugs ~ local tattoo shop. Similar ones on Etsy
Skirt ~ Ann Taylor Loft, Mum's garage sale
Heels ~ Payless (Many years ago)
Topaz ring ~ Local antique store
Matte lipstick ~ Palladio, shade: Just Red
(It is irritatingly hard to find a matte red. I hate those goopy super-shine products. It looks like they slathered hair gel on their lips!)

♦Alfani men's jacket from Macy's clearance for only $20! (Last season, couldn't find sorry.)
♦Chenille sweater garage sale
♦Jeans...sorry don't remember
♦Boots from Walmart $25(I like these so much I bought both brown, and black.)
*Corgi fur (They are happy to donate)
*Hair styled by Mon Oreiller
*No makeup. (Honestly...no makeup. Why do you think I am wearing the sunglasses??)
Yes, I have such a glamorous life, driving Rasputin's car to an oil change, mowing the lawn, and schlepping the dogs to the vet. (Ha ha ha!) I can't even take a picture of myself with out the dogs, or I feel like a weirdo!
I thought I might give "What I wore" posts a try. Don't worry I don't take myself too seriously.*

You will need:
How to:
•Remove the flower and leaves from the wire stem.
•Snip off as much of the plastic backing as possible from the blossom
•Remove the plastic center from the leaves.
•Cut a small oval from cardstock, or the back of a greeting card. (I like to keep the front part.)
•Glue the card oval to the top of the clip
•Glue leaves on top of the oval, then glue the flowers on top.
Other ideas:
•Ribbons
•Tulle
•Gems
•Glitter
•Fabric
•Pipe cleaners
•Butterflies
•Stickers

Road Trip! (Part 1)
Rasputin came up with some fun ideas (as an alternative to typical Valentines stuff.) We went on a day trip.
Raspi knows that I love French food, especially pastries. So, I was super excited when he found a French style café, Pardon My French Cafe`.
We both had their almond croissants. They were so good.
After breakfast, we did a bit of shopping. I bought a cool fedora.
I also picked up a mustard green cardigan, and a cross-section of quartz druzy. (Druzy from Beadniks.)
For lunch we went to Kokomos Island Cafe. They have the best Keylime Pie I have had outside of Florida.
Part 2, Part 3

Why I Am Not A *Good* Fashion Blogger
1. I have a terrible memory. (I can’t remember when I “got” most of my clothes from.)
2. Most of my wardrobe is thrift store finds, gifts, or cast-offs from family.
3. I have ridiculous tastes.
4. I am not a photographer.
The boots are vintage, the jeans...?
2. Most of my wardrobe is thrift store finds, gifts, or cast-offs from family.
I found the turquoise ring in an old house I lived in.
The bracelet was a gift from grandma Honey.
3. I have ridiculous tastes.
Rockin' the beehive. (No I am not a fan of Amy Whinehouse.)
4. I am not a photographer.
Showing off my super powers photography skills.
If I ever figure how to shut off the flash on my camera, you will be the first to know!

Mitten Monday
With the arrival of fall, I begin craving pumpkin, and hoarding blankets. (I may be part squirrel.) So have fun with some cozy links.
Warm gooey foods:
* Recipe for Russian Tea.
*This recipe for chai smores' sounds amazing!
*Carmel Apple Bites... too many yummy foods!
*A recipe for apple pie cookies! Neat idea. (I don't like apple pie, but I figured you folks might.)
*A recipe for pumpkin dump cake. I have to try this!
* Nine ways to make oatmeal. Yum!
*Stay warm in a cute sweater, with elbow patches.
*Get a chuckle with "The Sweater That The Universe Denied"" and check out part 2. I have felt her pain. I have many crochet fails. : P
*I don't normally like arctic/lodge style sweaters, but these are beautiful. Too bad that they are from American Eagle. (I won't buy from them.)
*I do want this cardigan from Old Navy.
*For knitters and crocheters, check out Ravelry. Allison of Deviant Dispatches loves it. : )
Snuggly animals:
*Snuggly bunny.*I like to follow the adventures of Pudge the corgi. He has gotten so big!
*FACT: corgis can do no wrong...
*Cats+a scanner = CUTE!
Bonus materials:
*Smell yummy:Tick or Treat Shampoo and conditioner.
*Make cozy pumpkins. I recommend using faux pumpkins, then you can keep them forever.*If you get really cold you could wear this:
Ha ha ha !
Stay warm folks.

Fashionable (affordable) purchases.
These are a few things I have picked up this summer. I love them…!
First, are my brown Mossimo wedge heels (around $25)…which I have had for 2 years. However I loved them so much that I have been looking for something similar in black.

One big fashion idea that I live by is this: if I love something, I buy it in multiple colors. Unless it’s a crazy over the top piece.
So after literally years of searching I found ones that are black. ($25) They have the same type of stitching, but they are different enough to not annoy me.

I had been searching for a new versatile everyday purse. I had been toying with the idea of a white purse. Rasputin has been giving me grief about it though “What happens when you spill coffee on it?” Party-pooper!
When I came across this one at Target, on clearance no less…I was so happy! ($12!)

My joy was short lived… I came home one day to find that my beloved sweet dog…had eaten one of the straps. Ahhhhhhhh!
A good friend suggested that I tie a scarf on it to make a new strap. (Thank you Elea!)
At the same time I decided to personalize it a bit more. I added a Corgi themed key chain, (oh the irony) and some sewing machine keys as well.

I found an awesome black and white star scarf made by Converse. (Around $20 I think…)

A few months back Rasputin and I were at the Mall of America, and I decided to stop in Ragstock. They have a huge scarf bin. Peeking out of the giant mess was a corner of a cute brown pattern. I gently pulled…and pulled and with a yank … Ta-da!

Super cute and super cheap. ($3!!!)
Last but not least….my fantabulous friend Elea bought me a late birthday present:
Brown velvet…brass studs and leather fringe. (swoon)

LOVE IT!!!
(She spent $12!) is a great bargain hunter as well!
*Please ignore the dog hair. It never goes away!
