Give Me The Deetz...*

*Hint #1 is terrible pun!

Lydia Deetz costume

One of my friends (Colin) says that I have 1930's newspaper comic strip humor. Yup, sums it up well.

The bangs were a nightmare!

Hint #2, the camera is part of the costume.

Mucho Monday!

I found tons, and tons of cool stuff for you this week! Hope you enjoy it folks. : )

Animals:
♦Oh man I have been there: Pill-ing a cat
♦Cats demonstrate their photo ninja skills
♦Amazing wildlife photography (SpaceManSteve, check out #5, and #6)
♦Need to express you irritation, or grumpiness...check out Colonel Meow
♦Cute cat + chilling + park bench = super cuteness

Awesome:
♦Random trivia: typographical river
♦Kanye Wes (Kanye West lyrics over shots from Wes Andersen Movies) So ridiculous!
♦The Bloggess put wigs on Hunter S. Thomcat
♦Captain Picard dances to Gagnam Style
♦You are beautiful (Super awesome video...go check it out!!!)
♦Get well cards for Malala (Made me teary eyed!) Info about Malala's story

DIY:
♦Cool use for old book spines
♦Make a galaxy scarf
♦Make a beautiful mask
♦A shirt + a scarf = cool new shirt. (I don't like the combo in the tutorial, but love the idea!)
♦Easy change-up tassel curtains
♦Tons of  homemade Christmas gift ideas
♦A way for freshening your towels
♦Make a cool crystal barrette

Fashion:
♦37 ways to tie a scarf

Feminism:
♦Introverted Fairy tales. These are pretty awesome!
♦*Sigh* I think that women have the right to dress sexy for Halloween if they choose to. I don’t appreciate that almost all costumes available are sexy, including costumes for little girls. So with my disclaimer out there here is a round up of some of the worst sexy costumes. There is also a music video that has non-sexy costume ideas. (Plus: it has a Tim Gun impersonator)
♦Dressing as part of a relationship. I found her discussion very interesting. (I don't dress much like my husband at all. We look like opposites, often getting weird second glances)
♦"Fantasy Slut League" this makes me so sick!
♦YES! I guy who gets it! (About harasment/cat calling)
♦Cats against cat-calling Tumblr:

legit cat call
I love this one! Source

Nom:
♦Make your own sprinkles. (I normally don't like sprinkles they are made primarily out of corn starch and wax, eww. These are different.)
♦Barmbrack ~ Irish Halloween bread (Interesting, sort of like King Cake for Marti Gras)
♦Pumpking double feature: Pumpkin-Beer Waffles, and Maple Pumpkin Granola
♦Garlic rosemary bead
♦Brussels sprout chips (Ok, so this isn't for everyone, but I really like brussels sprouts.)

WTF:
♦In the 1940's  a woman adopted and made clothes for a squirrel. (I think its cute, but really not the way a squirrel should live. He is a wild creature after all.)
♦Where's Waldo tattoo
♦Tongue soap...eww

♥This guy cracked me up!
♥Awww! Cute metal guy snuggling a kitty! This is so Raspi!!!!

Lady In Red

Trying out a "fashion-y" pose. Ha! As if.
Finnley Mae

Check out my Halloween kitty and broom on the left. ; )

I have very slender feet, as you can see. The squared toe on these shoes makes me feet look even longer. Water-skis. Ha!

Red sweater ~ Shopko (Many years ago)
Bronze pin ~ local antique store
Glass ear plugs ~ local tattoo shop. Similar ones on Etsy
Skirt ~ Ann Taylor Loft, Mum's garage sale
Heels ~ Payless (Many years ago)

Thankful for Falling Leaves

♥Have you ever seen a venomous man eating orchid? No? Well, I am making a sculpture of one. : )
♥Lightbulb moment: turn clear plastic containers upside-down = faux bell jars.
♥Saw this Halloween idea on Facebook originally...might have to do this. (Bwaa ha ha ha!)
♥Eventhough our whole neighbor hood has been turned upside down, it will be so nice when the construction/utility work is done. *Trying soooo hard to be positive.*
♥The fallen leaves collecting in our yard are yellow and chartreuse. Very pretty. : )
♥The pups have been very good in spite of all of the noise and  strangers working nearby. They stick close by us. (They think they are guarding/protecting us from the work crew.)
♥Enameled dutch ovens are pretty cool. I finally used the one we bought. Love it. No more non-stick for us!
♥Raspi and I started to play Magic. It is pretty fun. (Yeah, we are nerds.)

*Special note:
Happy Birthday to Allison & Lori!*

Pale Peony

The kids wanted to be in the picture too. I love that Bud is checking himself out. : )

This is a sort-of bland outfit for me. I had errands to do, hair cut, groceries, and pick up a new pan.

I know that some would find it weird that I wear heels to run around. Wearing heels for a few hours is nothing compared to being on my feet for 12+hours at work. Bleck!

Shirt ~ from Mum's garage sale
Jeans  ~ ? (I can never remember where I have bought pants, sorry!)
Boots ~ from Mum (She is very stylish)
Peony hair clip ~ Made by me
Puppy fuzz ~ supplied by my kids. : )

Bonus for Jhonen Vasquez fans, the lime green/yellow art piece was made by Rasputin in highschool. Its the charecter "Filler Bunny."

Manatee Monday

Sometimes its really hard to wake-up. Get that bun some coffee stat!

Art:
♦Calligraphy made from paper pulp
♦Portraits Drawn with Tea, Vodka, Whiskey and Ink
♦Simple, yet whimsical art/photography idea

Awesomeness:
♦A great animal sanctuary...and it has 5 cute corgs? Sign me up!
♦Cakes with Eastern-Indian flair
♦Valentino makes costumes for New York Ballet
♦Calming manatee
♦Ooooh pretty!

DIY:
♦Faux pewter pumpkins
♦Super easy binding technique (Book Binding)

Feminism:
♦Dressing to not be noticed It’s a very interesting article. There are some part I disagree with:

We were trying to hide our asses. This is the one thing that enlightened, unpretentious women (Kate), insecure and possibly pretentious women (me), and company dress codes everywhere have in common: an abiding fear of the female ass.

“Mirror fasting” is a solution that’s been proposed a lot lately in the media. The gist of it is that a woman decides to go for a period of time (three days, five weeks) without looking into any reflective surfaces, thereby achieving freedom from the tyranny of her own image. But this is (almost literally) a head-in-the-sand approach.

♦Men explain: Why men keep telling women to “smile” Parts awesome/frustrating.
♦Why does low self-esteem seem to be expected?
♦A man is called-out for ripping on a Sikh woman's appearance.

Hair-to's:
♦The Gibson tuck (P.S. she has beautiful freckles!)

Noms:
♦The perfect iced coffee
♦Listen to some chocolate...
♦Pumpkin rolls
♦Caramel apple bites
♦Flour-less chocolate cake
♦Applesauce spice cake
♦Roasted red pepper cheese dip

WTF:
♦My father-in-law applied for a credit card, and was denied credit because he was dead? (This honestly happened to him!)
♦Straw hats and violence... (in history)

Profitez De La Brise*

Sometimes you need to stop and appreciate the wind in your hair.

I still look and feel like crud…I was in no mood for having my picture taken. Besides…who really wants to see me  red-nosed and exhausted lazing about in my PJs? No one…

So please enjoy this happy little dog having a blissful moment. : )

* Translation: Enjoy the breeze
