Smash The Patriarchy Make-Up Tutorial

This is such a great video, on so many levels.

Can we talk about how cute her shirt is?? I love it! It is from Forever 21.
I am not fond of that retailer. Unless it shows up at one of my local thrift stores, It won't end up in my closet.  :(

Hope you enjoy this fun video I came across!

P.S. Why isn't their a feminist makeup company? They could give the shades funny names like she did, and the profits could go to women's charities.

Note to world: MAKE THAT HAPPEN!

One of my friends (Colin) says that I have 1930's newspaper comic strip humor. Yup, sums it up well.

Hint #3:

I am guessing most people will know who I am supposed to be, but if you are too young to remember scroll to the bottom.

Muerto Monday

Para Abnormal does it again.

So, I am not over Halloween quite yet...bear with me...
"Sobering" Tattoo commercial by Rhett & Link. Ha ha ha!
(The guys that brought you Caption Fail)

Do you judge a book by its cover? This is crazy!
(The music is pretty good too.)

♦Gala Darling shares her adventures on Dia De Los Muertos (last year.) Her make up was amazing!

♦An awesome tutorial for day of the dead cookies. All of her cookie ideas are fantastic.

♦I found a super crazy site called Kinder Trauma. If you saw part of a horror movie, you can describe it to the blog readers. Many times they can tell you what movie it was.

♦The Bloggess shares her amazing haunted dollhouse. It is filled with horror movie references.

♦Artist Eric Barclay makes household garbage into cute little critters. So dang cute!

♦Two pugs + a literary reference + Halloween = super cute!

♦From the mind of Paula Deen…a recipe for cornmeal waffles with spicy chili. Sounds hearty and yummy!

♦And lastly, this makes me laugh everytime:

Have a great week!

The search for makeup

I have been on the look out for a new makeup company. I have been using a mix of Cover Girl and Mary Kay. I have some issues with both companies…and have been wanting to switch for quite a while.

The trouble is that I have sensitive skin. Changing makeup is a slow grueling process. I can only try one product at a time. Testing each one for a week or more.

Beyond the skin issue I have other requirements. I look for animal testing, ease of purchase, and value for cost.

The HUGE issue I have with Cover Girl, is animal testing. I find it disgusting and unnecessary to test on animals. I cannot support a company that harms animals.

I don't want to use Mary Kay anymore, because I don't have a great relationship with my Mary Kay agent. I like being able to pick up makeup while shopping for other things.

I have also  been experimenting with different make-up techniques. I have found a lot of great tips on Keiko Lynn's blog.

Her tutorial on cat-eye  makeup was very helpful. Based on her recommendation I purchased a cream eye liner and an egonomic liner brush. The brush works like a charm! I love it, so easy to use.

I have been trying out;

I like the black so much I ended up buying more colors!

I also discovered the E.L.F. 100 color eyeshadow palette.

I love it! It has a fantastic selection of colors. The best part is that its only $10.00!
