Wednesday And What-not

Right now I am having a harder and harder time with outfit posts.

I have found myself putting them off...and posting later and later.

I am not enjoying them right now.

So, for the time being I will not be posting them. Until I think of a different feature (or you lovely folks suggest one)  I won't be posting on Wednesdays.

Thanks for your understanding.

Mori Style (Maybe)

I have always been a fan of a certain style of clothes. I didn't know that it is a specific genera in fashion. The other day I stumbled upon Mori.

So I thought I would try out the style with some pieces I have:

I realize that I should have another longer layer underneath, and that the colors are darker than true Mori.  This is what I had to work with.
(I love the squinty look on Cici's face.)

Sorry for the repetitive backgrounds. This is the only place in our house with good light.
(During the winter that is.)

Check out the blurry corgi parade!
I tried to have Frankie join us, she wasn't interested. Rufus didn't mind.

I love the little hover-paw!

It has been snowing here, and really cold. What is worse, is that it rained yesterday so there is ice under it all.      Boo!
Such a handsome boy!

Zoom!

Lazy Day

Finally got Bud to take a picture with us. Just had to have one of the cats sit behind the camera. Lol!

Sometimes I put too much pressure on myself to come up with a "cool" outfit for Wednesdays. The whole point is to get over my insecurities. Some days are better than others.

So today is casual. Simple comfy clothes, messy hair, and no make-up.

Arg...I am not a fan of my crooked smile.

Details:
Jacket ~ Macy's (Don't worry it was only $20!)
T-shirt ~ Hot Topic (Ages ago. Hey, its a Nirvana shirt)

Bellatrix's Little Sister

Hi folks,

I am still sick..and I don't look presentable... at... all...

Imagine Bellatrix Lestrange...in paint splattered yoga pants and an old sweatshirt.

Source (She looks much better than I feel!)

Raspi and I are still recovering from "The Crud"

I hope we are both better soon.

Stay healthy!!!!

Ski Trip

We were able to borrow skis from Lynn and Ted. We skied around outside of the cow pasture.

Yes, I went cross-country skiing in a skirt. I wear skirts most of the time. The key is layers. I was wearing leggins under the skirt, but they suggested I wear wind pants too. I was toasty

Coat ~ J.C. Pennys
Skirt ~ Goodwill
Windpants ~ borrowed from Lynn
Trapper hat ~ Target (I am wearing it under the hood.)

Navy Blue

Since It was recently my birthday, I decided to post some old photos instead of an outfit post.

I had a nice low-key birthday.

Batty Old Aunt

I was going for the stiffness of old photos.

I guess I still had Circus on the brain. Vintage circus that is.

Bud didn't want to be in the picture. He was busy herding the cats.

Ringmaster*

Welcome to my circus.
I thought I would try a goofy pose. (Can't take things too seriously.)

I would wear this whole outfit except the hat. The Top hat is too big for me, but I still love it.

Cici was 2 seconds away from licking my face.

Buddy decided not to be in the photo. He was busy playing with his toys. : )

Old Is Gold

Cool stuff doesn't always have to be new.
All of my clothes today have been with me a looong time.
I thought I would go with a sort-of punky look.
Reminds me of my highschool days.

I will be so sad when those jeans finally bite the dust.

I was having a bad hair day. I decided to just go with it.

Rue wanted a picture take with me. He has been super cuddly lately. Aww!

Purple tank top ~ ???
Jeans ~ Shopko (a million years ago! They are practically disintegrating. The more shredded they get, the more I love them!)
Tights ~ Target
Hoodie ~ Target (I added the skull patches, and the heart patch, which is hard to see)
Boots ~ The Goodwill*
Necklace chain ~ hardware store
Charms on necklace ~ Gift from Mum, and Raspi (They are a motorcycle, a bullet, and a snake)

*If you have been a thrift-er for awhile you sort of get a sixth sense about shopping. Suddenly you get the idea to hit up a store you have been to in a while. Then BAM! Amazing finds!

Years ago, I had this crazy desire for odd cowboy boots, bordering on obsession. I decided to go to a local thrift store, but was on auto-pilot while driving. Instead I found myself at the good will. I walked in and headed straight to the shoes. There were my crazy vintage cowboy boots!

Curly Sue*

The main reason I make “What I Wore“ posts, is to get more comfortable being on the other side of the camera. The pictures are meant to be fun, and sort of silly.

Today I am just not up to it today.

I am battling the winter blahs… so doing my hair, makeup etc. is just a bit more than I can manage today.

So, please enjoy this picture of me as kid.

I had to sleep in sponge rollers the night before. Soooo “comfy“. Ha!

*My hair in the picture made me think of the little girl from Curly Sue. : )

Heart of Glass

After my haircut today, my hair had a 70's vibe. Serious face, blah!

Sort of flippy. (I had her cut a few inches off, it was getting too snarly)

See I would have fit right in! Ha!

Puppy love!

Bud is super focused on the toy. Meanwhile Cici is curious about my necklaces.

Sparkle Headbands and Holstein Boots

Finnley Mae

It is very hard to see in this lighting, but it is a cable knit sweater with button front, and a tiered ruffle skirt with black sequins. (I still have to work on my photography/lighting skills!)

Finnley Mae

Of course I don't wear the heels to let the pups out, rain boots rock.

Best corgis ever!

I didn't have to coax Bud to do that! He loves to be close. Cici is wearing her blue and purple "princess" bandanna from her Auntie Elea.

glass hand, carved skull, jewelry, aquamarine,

The little black skull is hand carved, and is from Peru. I picked that up at the craft fair.

Finnley Mae

Find a cool multi-strand necklace that can wrap around your head. If its too short use a bracelet or rubber band  as and extender. Pin near your temples and by the nape of your neck. Ta-da new accessory!

I know I don't have a shot of my hair do, so I will just explain it. It is the 3 bun up-do. Super easy to do!

Details:
Black sweater ~ The Goodwill
Black Skirt ~ The Goodwill
Blue velvet scarf ~ Gift from a Friend (I know it looks black, but it is midnight blue)

Give Me The Deetz...*

*Hint #1 is terrible pun!

Lydia Deetz costume

One of my friends (Colin) says that I have 1930's newspaper comic strip humor. Yup, sums it up well.

The bangs were a nightmare!

Hint #2, the camera is part of the costume.

Hint #3:

I am guessing most people will know who I am supposed to be, but if you are too young to remember scroll to the bottom.

Lady In Red

Trying out a "fashion-y" pose. Ha! As if.
Finnley Mae

Check out my Halloween kitty and broom on the left. ; )

I have very slender feet, as you can see. The squared toe on these shoes makes me feet look even longer. Water-skis. Ha!

Finnley Mae

Red sweater ~ Shopko (Many years ago)
Bronze pin ~ local antique store
Glass ear plugs ~ local tattoo shop. Similar ones on Etsy
Skirt ~ Ann Taylor Loft, Mum's garage sale
Heels ~ Payless (Many years ago)
Topaz ring ~ Local antique store
Matte lipstick ~ Palladio, shade: Just Red
(It is irritatingly hard to find a matte red. I hate those goopy super-shine products. It looks like they slathered hair gel on their lips!)
