Sparkle Headbands and Holstein Boots
It is very hard to see in this lighting, but it is a cable knit sweater with button front, and a tiered ruffle skirt with black sequins. (I still have to work on my photography/lighting skills!)
Of course I don't wear the heels to let the pups out, rain boots rock.
I didn't have to coax Bud to do that! He loves to be close. Cici is wearing her blue and purple "princess" bandanna from her Auntie Elea.
The little black skull is hand carved, and is from Peru. I picked that up at the craft fair.
Find a cool multi-strand necklace that can wrap around your head. If its too short use a bracelet or rubber band as and extender. Pin near your temples and by the nape of your neck. Ta-da new accessory!
I know I don't have a shot of my hair do, so I will just explain it. It is the 3 bun up-do. Super easy to do!

Feminism:
♦Dressing to not be noticed It’s a very interesting article. There are some part I disagree with:
We were trying to hide our asses. This is the one thing that enlightened, unpretentious women (Kate), insecure and possibly pretentious women (me), and company dress codes everywhere have in common: an abiding fear of the female ass.
“Mirror fasting” is a solution that’s been proposed a lot lately in the media. The gist of it is that a woman decides to go for a period of time (three days, five weeks) without looking into any reflective surfaces, thereby achieving freedom from the tyranny of her own image. But this is (almost literally) a head-in-the-sand approach.
♦Men explain: Why men keep telling women to “smile” Parts awesome/frustrating.
♦Why does low self-esteem seem to be expected?
♦A man is called-out for ripping on a Sikh woman's appearance.

Manic Monday
Manic Monday-The Bangles (What can I say, I'm a child of the 80's)
♦Good morning! And Welcome to the best of last week.

♦Are you rich, bored, a pet owner…looking to travel? (Yeah, cause my readers are mega rich.) Check out the crazy perks these hotels offer for pets.
♦Three really thought provoking articles about how women are perceived. How heavily tattooded women are perceived, The Gender Pendulum, Male Gaze- by Tavi Gevinson.
♦If you haven’t heard of Tavi, she is an incredibly smart young woman. If you like fashion, or feminism…check out her blog. Go now…do it!
♦Five tips for staying inspired. Good advice, fun blog! She also has a great tutorial for a bee hive hair-do, and great tips for shopping vintage.
♦Time for some fun animal antics! Check out these fun animal tidbits:
♦A group of lions band together to rescue a baby lion.
♦More lions! Happy birthday Adia!
♦An adorable assortment of corgi costumes. What is cuter than a super cute dog…in a costume?
This nubby (bunny to you folks) really hates pens!
Last but not least!
I will be interviewing a woman (Who is very dear to me!) on her 88th birthday! What would you like to asker her? Add your question in the comments. If I like your question, I will ask her in the interview.
*EDIT*
Due to grandma Honey’s health issues, the interview is postponed indefinably. She has to move, and it has put a lot of stress on her already delicate heart.

How To Have Better Hair: Tips from an everyday girl.
Man, I had some volume in the back that day!
To pick out a new cut, start with research!
Start by making a file of hair do, cuts you like. Even if you only vaguely like it, make note of it. Sometimes its easier to figure out you want by eliminating what you don’t like. Its ok if you start with too many, you can always narrow things down later.
This cut is very textured...but its hard to see.
Make note of their hair texture, thickness, and color. This is very important! A cut will look very different with different hair textures.
Hair color makes a huge difference in the definition of the texture. For example, I love short choppy cuts with lots of texture. The problems is… my hair is so dark that you cannot see the texture. It looks like a solid dark mass. Lighter colors show much more texture.
I'm a unicorn....ha!
How to pick a stylist.
I look for someone who has hair similar to mine. I have fine (texture) medium (thickness) and the color is a brown just a few shades away from black. I keep an eye out for someone with hair like that. They will have lots of experience with your hair type, very helpful!
Keep in mind that stylist will likely dye their hair or try out new edgy cuts. So don’t let a crazy cut or wild color scare you away!
The try-out
Get your current hair styled by the stylist, first. If you like come back later for a cut.
Getting the cut.
Don’t wash your hair before going to the salon, they will shampoo your hair anyway.Style your hair as you usually would. This will give the stylist an idea of your taste and skill level.
You brought you clipping right? Great! This is just a starting point, now let them know in detail what you do or don’t like. How much time to you want to spend styling your hair? Do you use a lot of products, or nothing?
During the cut PAY ATTENTION! If you don’t like something speak up!
While they style your hair PAY ATTENTION!
Ask questions!
Ask them to explain what they are doing while blow-drying.
Ask them to explain how to use the products.
Keep these ideas in mind to help you have a more successful salon experience.
After the cut
Practice styling at home. Practice practice practice!
Don’t get discouraged, it takes a while to get the hang of it. I still have days where I have “Iron marks” on my hair from the flat iron.
Hope this helps!
